Bottom of the Barrel 006

Last batch of the empties! It's actually going to be so good to be able to throw all this stuff out cos it's been collecting dust in my room for quite some time now hehe

Sukin Certified Organic Rosehip Oil
I used this interchangeably while still using the Trilogy Rosehip oil, and I was able to really tell the difference between the two. The Trilogy one felt like it had a thicker consistency and a stronger scent, whereas the this one was a bit more runnier and seemed more "diluted" in terms of the colour. The Sukin one sunk into the skin a lot quicker so depending on what you like in your oils, then this can be a good or a bad thing. I don't think I really saw much of a difference in my skin with use over time, so I ended up just using it to give my skin that extra moisture before putting on foundation at the start of the day.
Repurchase: probably not.

L'Oreal Revitalift Day Cream
Before trialling this cream, I didn't think twice about the product itself. Surprisingly, 1 sachet was enough to sell the product to me, and 5 sachets in, I was counting how many I had left lolll. This moisturiser smooths out your skin texture before makeup application, maintains moisture and works decently under an oil as a night cream. I haven't looked into the ingredients in this product but this has totally made my skin baby soft and thanks L'oreal for sending out a 14 day trial <3
Repurchase: totally got the full size when it was on sale at Priceline

Indeed Labs pepta-bright
This is my second tube of this, and definitely liked it a lot when I was using it consistently. I felt like my skin evened out in skin tone, kinda balanced out my skin texture, and I noticed that with makeup on top, my t-zone was never as oily as it was before this product. Overall, it has done good things for my skin, and results are better seen with consistent use.
Repurchase: maybe next skincare sale :)

Garnier All in 1 Micellar Cleansing Water
A skincare staple of mine for the longest time, it's lightweight, scentless and very affordable. I use this in the morning to cleanse my face and at night after removing makeup with cleansing oil, just to double cleanse. I have relatively sensitive skin, so this cleansing water is definitely gentle enough to do the job of removing makeup without stripping moisture from the skin as some other cleansing waters do.
Repurchase: already have

Philosophy Purity Cleansing Oil
Not something I've heard too much about in the blogosphere, but I would totally recommend this to anyone. Personally, the famous Shu Uemura ones break me out, which I'm going guess it's due to the mineral oil (first ingredient listed) content within it. This one states that it's mineral oil free, and *yay* it doesn't break me out :D. It melts away all traces of makeup, even the most stubborn mascaras and liquid lipsticks, which is why this has been bumped up to my ride or die oil cleanser.
Repurchase: yaaaaas

Antipodes Avocado Pear Night Replenish Serum & Nourishing Night Cream
Picked up this mini duo at Priceline for 40% off, thought it'll be a good chance to try out these products are the full size versions are pretty expensive. I really enjoyed the Nourishing Night Cream as it does have a thick formula (something I look for in a night cream), and you can feel the difference of hydration compared to the areas where you don't apply this cream. Works well during the colder months to keep the dry patches at bay, but the only downside is the very herbally scent of it, kinda reminding me of some chinese meds I took when I was younger (boo). The "serum" looked and felt like an oil, however it was definitely a lot more light weight than items marketed as an oil. A bit of a meh product for me, I didn't see much difference on my skin with use.
Repurchase: maybe in the future for the night cream, but no to the serum

  1. I've been using the Trilogy rosehip oil vs the Sukin one and I feel the same as you. They're both essentially the same thing but I do think that the Trilogy one is a little thicker. Next time I'll probably just pick up whatever is cheaper :)
