Date Truffles

As promised, these are the truffle/bliss balls that I made, inspired from the recipe card from the last post here. Personally not a huge fan of cooking, just haven't reached the age where cooking is "enjoyable", but this ones super easy to make and only requires a few ingredients :)

OM NOM: Greek Yogurt & Fruit

This is a bit of a different post, but I've always been interested in seeing what other people eat to give myself food ideas. Ever since youtube videos of "What I Ate Today" started happening and showing up on my feed, I've been consistently watching them. This is just a spin on that idea. If I had to give it an accurate title, it'd be more along the lines of "What I've Been Obsessed with Eating Recently." I always have an obsession or like a phase with a meal or an ingredient and it's quite seasonal. Anyways, thought I'd just share it cos food is life and I'm sure many of you share that same train of thought ;)

On a sunny, Sunday afternoon we decided to give a visit to Third Wave Cafe. Located in Prahran, (just a little walk from Chapel St and Prahan Market) this is the sister cafe to the long running Port Melbourne venue. For those wondering, you can take the 72 Camberwell tram from Flinders St station, get off at stop 30, add on a few minutes of walking, and you'll find yourself in front of the cafe :) 

Sydney Food Baby

Last week I went to Sydney with a friend. We stayed for 3 days and 2 nights and I have got to say I really loved it! Compared to Melbourne, it was just very different. I feel like Melbourne is more edgier, alternative and a bit more 'street' in terms of fashion. Sydney on the other hand I found was more uptown, more refined 'classier' fashion. Could be just the area I was in or what not. Anyways one of the key highlights for me was definitely the food! So here is just some photos I took :) All these photos were taken from my iPhone 5 - sorry about the quality.

Salted Caramel Crepe with Creme Brulee Cubed Ice Cream

Tom Turtle is a dessert house specialising in premium cubed ice cream. Upon first glance I was really intrigued by the idea - "wow....an ice cream in a shape of a cube!".When our order came out however it suddenly became "its just an ice cream...in a shape of a cube..." haha

The crepes were made near the front register, and the cubed ice cream was "made" on the far back side of the store.  Because of this, the food was served to us separately; the crepe came to us first on a plate that was too big *refer to pictures*, and the ice cream came around 10-15 mins later on a smaller plate.  Based on the pictures, you can pretty much see how boring the presentation was, and considering it was a dessert house, we expected the food to be presented better.
